Released from lockdown.

On the road again. I have a wee bit of a understanding of how the travelling people, that my father always seemed to think were part of my family’s ancestory, felt when the ‘yellow was on the broom’ and they moved to their traditional traveller camps and met up with other travellers.

It feels good to be out on the road again, visiting areas familiar and getting to know new parts of my homeland.

I’ve come to realise that I don’t really have to travel very far to start enjoying ‘new’ places.

Less than an hour from home we stopped at Lochindorb for a coffee and snack. Many times I have zoomed passed it on the way to Aviemore but, have rarely taken the small road to the actual loch. With the ruined castle of the infamous ‘Wolf of Badenoch’ on an island not far offshore this really is an interesting spot to visit.

Although it may have taken me years to appreciate this loch, others enjoy using it for all sorts of water sports.

Fun skiff race on Lochindorb.

Definitely, a place we will add to our local wild camping list and I have a feeling we will return for another visit soon.
